Lakefront - a property that borders the buffer strip of land owned by the state of Maryland, which the owner may cross to get to the waterline. The distance between a lakefront house and the water can vary. The owner of this type of property does not have to cross a road to reach the water. The term Split Lakefront means that a property borders the buffer strip but there is a road between the house and the lake. Lake Access - a property that has deeded access to a common area that borders the state of Maryland's buffer strip of land. The owner of this type of property may be able to walk to the access area from their house or may have to drive. Lake Area - a property that is neither Lakefront nor Lake Access but is located in the general Deep Creek Lake area, also known as Area 4 in the MRIS multiple list system. Ski-In/Ski-Out - a property that has direct walking access to one of the ski slopes at Wisp Ski Resort. Deep Creek Mountain Resort (TM) - a property located in one of the subdivisions that make up Deep Creek Mountain Resort. Depending on the subdivision, some of these properties have lake access and slope access while others do not. Northern Garrett County - a property located in the northern half of Garrett County, Maryland. The properties in this area are usually located in the town of Friendsville, Accident, or Grantsville. Southern Garrett County/Oakland - a property located in the southern half of Garrett County, Maryland. The properties in this area are usually located in the town of Oakland (the county seat), Mt. Lake Park, Crellin, or Kitzmiller. Nearby West Virginia - a property located in Preston County, Grant County, Monongahela County, Tucker County, or Mineral County, West Virginia. The population centers in these counties include Terra Alta, Davis, Thomas, and Canaan Valley. Nearby Pennsylvania - a property located in Fayette, Somerset, or Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
